Danielle Chang the author of this book is the founder of a festival also named Lucky Rice. This is a fun cookbook to read for the stories from night markets, feasts, and family tables. It it also a feast for your eyes with all the gorgeous photos of the food. If you enjoy Asian food then you’ll love this book. There are classic Asian recipes as well as what are called Asian Mash-ups, what many call fusion cooking.
I can’t wait to try some of the recipes but will have to visit an Asian supermarket for some ingredients since I live in a rural area and our grocery stores are behind the times. Some of the fun recipes I’m looking forward to are the Garlicy Smashed Cucumber Pickles, Instant Kimchi, Kimchi Pancakes, Bubble Tea, Hot Pot, Jewish Pastrami Egg Rolls, U.S. Army Stew, and Vietnamese Iced Coffee Pops to name a few.
